ARTIST STATEMENT
The journey of pursuing my passion in Art was never in the original plan. Growing up sports consumed my life and art was a hobby where I explored my passion for art in school. My journey was full of real life lessons as I reflect on my first college experience where I was majoring in Criminal Justice to land a “real job” and I dropped out. After a two-year break full of hardships and lessons learned I realized how important it is to align your purpose, passion, and your actions. There have been many struggles over these past four years, I can say it was worth it all. I found a way to take the passion I have for art and for sports and combine them into one.
ARTIST BIO
De’Sha Manago, CEO & Founder of Manago Design Studio, is a passionate artist that has been elevating her skills since 2016. She has always had a passion and love for the arts and sports. Her career goals are to become a graphic design teacher and to help educate and motivate the next generation of graphic designers. She also wants to continue to run her business Manago Design Studio and continue to produce quality advertising and graphic design for clients. De’Sha is skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, and Lightroom. Not only does she have the skills of a graphic designer, but also a photographer and multidisciplinary artist. She is currently a senior pursuing a B.S. in Visual Communication and Digital Media Arts with a concentration in Advertising Design. She has worked for Bowie State University Auxiliary Services as a graphic designer since 2017, interned as a graphic designer with City of Praise Family Ministries Spring 2020, was a featured artist in the Raw Artist Showcase in February 2020, and has worked with clients through her business Manago Design Studio. Although her path on this journey started four years ago, her passion and love grows stronger every day.
